Last Supper - Arcabas - Polyptych 1953

First Intervention 1953 - 1967: early work in austere.

The choir is dedicated to the divine life. The Last Supper is divided into four panels located along the apse.

The red bands in burlap are painted with honey and egg, 4 meters tall, black and white on a red background.

The image below shows how each panel was mounted between the windows on the choir.

Oh, oh. I just wrote a comment to you on someone else's blog.

This is unusual as it looks quite modern yet naive.

a fascinating painting of the Last Supper. I think i have recognised Jesus- but who is Judas Ishariot?
....peter:): it is a fascinating set of paintings Philine... my best guess is that Judas is the fourth in from the right side bending over with a bag of coins hanging over the edge of the table....petersmile
