Boat Friday

Just upstream from the Weir is the Pulteney Bridge constructed in the early 1770s is one of only four bridges worldwide with shops across the full span on both sides...

It’s a beautiful place to walk, shop, and sight-see...

The view from above the weir and bridge is breathtaking...

A Landerneau aussi nous avons un pont habité et avec des magasins. Celui-là  est magnifique.
....peter:): je ne savais pas que l'un des ponts avec des magasins était à Landerneau en Bretagne Martine... merci pour l'information....peter/pierresmile
I really love this bridge... This is a lovely image!
....peter:): thank you very much Elizabeth....petersmile
I've seen photo's of this view before, but its still grand Peter. Good timing on the boat !
....peter:): thanks Frank... in yesterday's picture the tourist boat was moored on the far side of the weir... i waited until it got under the bridge to take this photo....petersmile

If I take a bus to town, this is just where I get off, and I always admire the Weir. I once saw a swan trying to drown another in just this spot, by holding its head under water
....peter:): if i was going to town in Bath Lisl... i would take to bus and get off at the weir also... i am still in awe of it....petersmile

The classic view Peter
....peter:): i am sure that it has been photographed from this angle hundreds of times Chris... i preferred yesterday's picture showing the weir and the tour boat moored behind it....petersmile
One of the finest sights in this country Peter
....peter:): if not for Lisl i would never had seen it expect in photos from other SC members Bill....petersmile

This is the standard view Peter, that’s why I enjoyed yesterday’s so much.
....peter:): i know that this would have been the standard view Chad... i took the picture posted yesterday first to show the beauty of the weir itself... the gull was a nice addition to the shot....petersmile
it was new information to me that there are just four of such bridges all over the world, Peter. this is certainly a splendid vantage point.
....peter:): it was a splendid vantage Ayush... compliments to Lisl who brought us there....petersmile

The boat is not going to get sucked under?
....peter:): i think that the captain of the tour boat had it all under control Louis...
you can see where the boat was mourned at the other side of the weir in yesterday's posting....petersmile

With the part of the steps of water I see, the view certainly is breathtaking, Peter... Nice capture... smile
....peter:): i thought that it was an awesome view as well Sudipto... we spent a lot of time on the sidewalk above the river watching the water flowing over the weir....petersmile
Glad the boat is not being sucked backward. smile:- smilesmilesmile
....peter:): i think that the captain has taken that tour boat out onto the River Avon many times before Care smilesmilesmile....petergrin
A fine shot Peter, our only visit to Bath and this spot was in the early 70's.
....peter:): the weir was rebuilt in the early 1970s and given a more effective and now iconic V-shape design... i hope that you were there to see it this way Brian....petersmile
That'a a great shot Peter! It's instantly recognisable, once seen before smile
....peter:): i had a good vantage point to take this picture Martin....petersmile
