Around The World - Takakkaw Falls Yoyo Nat. Park

Takkakaw Falls is the highest waterfall in the Canadian Rockies, with a vertical drop of 380 m (1246 ft). The name "Takkakaw" is a Cree Indian word meaning "magnificent". The setting of these falls, in the great glacial valley of Yoho, is spectacular. Takkakaw is fed from the Daly Glacier part of the vast Waputik Icefield.

oh gosh that must be the most hugest and roaring waterfall ever!! i agree, magnificent smile i missed your visits, busy! bad boy! and about the broom my specialty is boring photography lol
....peter:): Hi Elaine you always make me smile when i receive one of your comments....they are so full of life lol!!!!... thank you so very much....won't you come back for the next few shots of these falls and i will show you them up close and personal.....
i was busy helping my son put on gourmet meals for 80 people for two days.....so you see i am not a bad boy after allsmile
i thought that your broom was a most imaginative photo with great texture and treatmentgrin and i don't feel sorry for you at all....xx oo....petergrin
that is some large waterfall, did you even go to Niagara? Or in Austria maybe The Krimml waterfalls... I saw those both, marvelous nature wonders too
....peter:): I have never been to Krimml waterfalls with a total height of 380 metres (1,247 feet), and what i saw on the web....it is most beautiful Chantal....the Canadian "Horseshoe" Niagara Falls are (180 feet) 60 meters high and (2,500 feet) and 833 meters wide which makes it one of the most popular in the world. Takkakaw Falls however has a vertical drop of (1246 ft) 380 meters through a very narrow chute which causes such a thunderous effect. I will show you a closer look at them over the next few daysgrin.....petersmile

This in an underground river on which is not good to sail.
....peter:): Je suis peur Cajera qu'il est préférable de ne pas entrer dans la rivière au-dessus du glacier ou ci-dessous dans les rapides... .il ne serait pas bon à naviguergrin....peter/pierresmile
I think the Cree Indians got it about right Peter
....peter:): They sure did Bill...it surely is a thunderous waterfall....petersmile
In this shot it looks like it is fed from the sky.
....peter:): That is a great analogy Mary....i saw a photo on Wikipedia taken by air that shows the entire falls and the Daly Glacier....and you are right the top of mountain is in the cloudssmile....petersmile

Takakkaw is truly takakkaw! wink
So now you speak Indian?
I know know some simple Indian, seriously.
But it's India Indian.
I learnt it from my Indian friends back home in Malaysia.
....peter:): You are ever so cleave to reply in Cree LC.....(that was almost poetic) lol.
I don't speak in any of our First Nations languages.
I have attended many of their festivals.
There is always a circle tom toms and throat singers.
They are in full dress.....they do traditional dances.

I did not know that the Indians in India used any language but English.
But i should have known better....Duhh!
The English conquered the French colonies in Canada....
But we still have two official National Languagesgrin
And i speak both of themsmile.
Cheers Mate.
....petersmile
>The English conquered the French colonies in Canada....

Remember France helped America to gain independence.

So Britain took their colonies in Canada! Ha...

What goes around comes around, mate.
....peter:): I can't argue with your logistics LC.

What goes around comes aroundsmile

But you don't hear them speaking French in England do yougrin

So you se we Frenchmen came around tosmile

Merci Monsieur appelant de Londres...... smile
