Around The Wold - Castle Mountain - Bow River

The Canadian Rockies are composed of layered sedimentary rock such as limestone and shale.

This is the view of Castle Mountain from the Bow River Valley, you can see the glaciers and the flow of sedimentary rock as it meets the river.

....peter:): The glacier lakes in the Rockies all have this emerald colour....and that mountain is awesome Elizabeth!!!....i had to show Castle Mountain in three shots this time because i was too close to it....petersmile
On a sunny day like this with white clouds, why don't you use a small diafragma and underexpose at least 2 stops? That will prevent the sky being all blown out. Look at yesterdays picture on my blog, or tomorrows picture, which even shows it better, and you will see what I mean. That one is diafragma 11 and even 4 stops underexposed.
....peter:): I see what you mean Marion....these were taken with a fixed lens back in 2007...and i did not have a lot of control over the F stops and such....i now have a SLRD so i hope to improve on it.....thanks for the explanation that i asked you about blown out skies....it will help a lotsmile.....petersmile
